About Gloria Kaneko

I am a qualified and highly experienced Japanese tutor with over 18 years of teaching and tutoring experience in Australia, and have built a reputation as Sydney's premier HSC, high school and IB Japanese language tutor.

I specialise in teaching Japanese for HSC and high school, and for IB Diploma Programme and Middle Years Programme as well. I can also teach Japanese for university, and I have a very good knowledge of the VCE and QCE Japanese curricula as well.

I have been highly successful in helping many of my students achieve marks of 90% and over, and achieving Top 5 state rankings in NSW in the HSC.

I am located in Sydney, however I teach all lessons online so I accept students from anywhere in NSW for high school/HSC tutoring and anywhere in the world for IB tutoring. I have also successfully taught interstate students studying for their VCE or QCE.

About the lesson

Hi, my name is Gloria Kaneko, owner and head tutor of the Kaneko Japanese Academy.

I thoroughly teach all aspects of Japanese language personally and provide many examples and materials to help students gain a strong understanding and pick up the language very rapidly.

My classes are conducted one-on-one online via Zoom, and are delivered in a very unique style.

Whenever possible, I use additional native Japanese-speaking assistant tutors in my lessons to add to the learning experience and to allow students to interact more with different Japanese-speaking people. Sometimes these tutors are located here in Australia, and often times in Japan.

In my experience, this has the result of making the lessons more fun and interesting, while at the same time accelerating my students' learning curve.

I have a vast array of resources available, including listening MP3s, texts and past exam papers to help my students prepare thoroughly for exams and excel in their results.

My lesson structure and approach to teaching has been developed and fine-tuned over 18 years and has been proven to be both highly effective and lots of fun for my students.
