About Jean-Baptiste

I’m a mechanical engineering student at Imperial College London. I’ve been in love with STEM subjects for as long as I can remember and I really hope I can share that passion with you. I was lucky enough to attend an excellent school (Whitgift in Croydon) where I saw teachers put a ridiculous amount of time into their students and hope to reciprocate that effort myself through tutoring, especially for those who don’t have such a capable support system at school. The only formal training I have to educate is from a coaching standpoint but I know my lessons can rely on my keen understanding of the topics learnt at school and hard work putting lessons together.

As the most effective form of learning is understanding, I believe a tutor should primarily be supplementing your child’s education by following along with the teacher’s program and really encouraging the student to fully grasp concepts before moving on to new ones.

This would be best done with up to two 1-hour long lessons per week for me to see how your child is approaching problems. I am best suited to teach GCSE level students however my 2 A*s in A-level maths and physics and ongoing education as a Mechanical Engineer put me in a good position to help with A-level as well.
