About David
In March this year, I completed a 5 week Trinity College London Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) in Kerala, India. I learn an array of skills and have practical experience teaching non-natives English.
My specialty is using the International Phonemic Alphabet (IPA) to assist students with pronunciation and accent reduction. I have a very keen ear in this regard.
I myself a native English speaker (Australian born).
I also have a double degree from UNSW: Bachelor of Social Work (Honours) and Bachelor of Arts (Spanish Major, Linguistics Minor).
I speak conversational Greek and Spanish. My experience learning these languages also has helped me as a teacher.

I am experienced in using the 'Engage, Study, Activate' method of English language teaching.
I strive to create a student-centred learning environement whereby I elicit answers from the students. I believe in a communicative approach, and even if the student is learning something like writing I believe there should always be a speaking component within every good lesson.
