About Elisa
Bonjour!
My name is Elisa and I'm from Reunion Island, a French Island located in the Indian Ocean near Madagascar. I'm 26 years old and came to New Zealand to experience a new culture, improve my English, and build a lifestyle closer to nature and people.
Through my travels and international experiences, I discovered how powerful language is for connecting with people and gaining confidence in new situations. This is what motivates me to teach French today.
I am reliable, approachable and genuinely invested in helping students progress at their own pace. My goal is not only to teach French, but also to share a bit of French culture and help learners feel confident using the language in real-life situations.

My approach to tutoring is focused on building confidence and making French feel practical and enjoyable to learn. I believe languages are best learned through real communication, so my lessons combine conversation, vocabulary, and simple grammar explanations adapted to each student’s goals.
I like to create a relaxed and supportive environment where students feel comfortable speaking from the beginning. Depending on the level, lessons can include conversation practice, pronunciation work, role-play situations (travel, daily life, work), listening exercises, and personalized activities. I always adapt the pace and content to the student’s needs and learning style.
A typical lesson lasts 60 minutes, which allows enough time to practice speaking while also learning new structures. Shorter or longer sessions can be arranged if needed.
I am a native French speaker with international experience living and working abroad, which helps me understand the challenges of learning and using a new language in real-life situations. I regularly communicate in multicultural environments and enjoy helping others gain confidence when speaking French.
My lessons are suitable for beginners to intermediate learners, adults, students, travellers, or anyone wanting to improve conversational French. I can help with everyday conversation, travel preparation, pronunciation, and building natural speaking skills.
