About Thurman
"I spend most of my time focusing on tuning and maintenance, rhythm guitar, electric technique, acoustic technique, improvisation and soloing, and strumming patterns. I once spent an entire afternoon helping a student find the perfect string tension for their specific playing style.
That attention to detail is how I approach every aspect of the instrument after 8 years of working with students. Holding a Bachelor of Music Production from JMC Academy allows me to teach guitar with a producer mindset.
I have guided 249 students through the nuances of both acoustic and electric performance. The best part of my job is seeing the moment someone stops thinking about their fingers and starts focusing entirely on the music. I find it deeply satisfying to watch a student finally connect with their instrument on a deeper level."

"You will start by undergoing a diagnostic skills check to build your lesson plan. This ensures your time is spent on exactly what you need to improve right now. I apply my 8 years of experience to help gigging musicians and adult learners solve technical roadblocks quickly. We move fast and keep the momentum high throughout our scheduled time together.
My background with a degree from JMC Academy helps me explain complex theory in simple terms. You will see immediate progress in your rhythm and soloing ability.
I stay patient while we work through the tricky parts of your technique. You will enjoy the process of turning struggle into actual skill. Expect real progress by the end of our first meeting."
