About Georgii
I'm about to start my Civil Engineering degree at the University of Bristol. Maths and physics have always been the subjects I enjoy most — the kind of thing I'd happily work through for fun, not just for grades — and that's what first pulled me towards wanting to teach them rather than just study them.
What draws me to tutoring specifically is the one-to-one format. In a classroom of thirty, it's easy for a student to fall behind on one small gap and never quite catch up; one-to-one means I can actually find that gap and fix it, rather than moving on regardless.
I also think tutoring makes me better at my own subjects. Having to explain something clearly, on the spot, in a way that actually lands for someone else is a different skill to just knowing the content — and it's one I want to keep building as I head into my degree.

My approach is built around understanding how a student thinks before deciding what to teach them. I start most new students with a quick assessment of where the gaps are — From there I build a topic plan mapped to exam board specifications. I also consider school tests and homework to reveal weak spots, I'll adjust the next session rather than sticking rigidly to a pre-set plan.
For Maths and Physics, I focus on getting students comfortable with the underlying concepts, rather than blindly memorising steps which is what makes the difference under exam pressure when a question is phrased slightly differently to what they've practised. For Russian, lessons flex between grammar/vocabulary building for exam students and natural conversation practice for those working on fluency, depending on the goal.
Lessons typically run 60 minutes, though I'm happy to do 45-minute sessions for younger students or 90-minute sessions closer to exams when more practice time is useful.
I've taught primary-level Maths and English previously, which shaped how I explain things clearly and adjust to different learning styles. I achieved top grades across Maths, Further Maths, Design & Technology, Physics and Russian at A-level (receiving a Savile Scholarship for Academic Excellence), and I'm about to start Civil Engineering at the University of Bristol, so I'm well placed to tutor at GCSE and A-level.
My lessons suit GCSE and A-level students in Maths, Physics and Russian, as well as learners of any level wanting to build Russian fluency with a native speaker.
