About Rachel
I am originally from the United States, and I moved to The Netherlands when I was 14. For university, I relocated to the UK to study Drama and English.
I have not always loved the challenge of maths, but grew to appreciate the subject the more time I invested into learning and practicing mathematics.
I absolutely love teaching and building up a rapport with my students. A big part of my life has been spent communicating with people who might not understand me, or who I might not understand at first. Thus, tutoring and using my communication skills to help others understand something new is very satisfying to me.

I teach via Microsoft Teams primarily, working with a drawing pad and sharing my screen. I typically teach for one hour at a time.
I am very careful to go at a pace that makes sense and feels comfortable for my students. I find it important make sure my lessons are adaptable to the learning style and pace of my students. I have had experience teaching students with learning disabilities, as well as students who simply find it difficult to conceptualize maths.
I have 4 years of experience tutoring students ages 11-14 (MYP 1-4). I have had 10 students thusfar.
I am most well acquainted with the IB and MYP system I have been educated in and have previously tutored, but I love maths of all levels and am adaptable to alternative criteria.
