About Lavinia

My name is Lavinia, I am a 26 years old from Rome, Italy. I am passionate about languages - besides my native language, I speak fluent English and Catalan (I hold a C1 certificate in both languages). In the past few years, I have studied at four European universities (Italy, The Netherlands and Spain). I love traveling and exploring different cultures and new ways of living! During my university years I have tutored students aged 8-17. I have also served as a scout leader to children and teens in my hometown, and worked as an aupair in Spain. I love nature and outdoor activities, in particular hiking and rock climbing. I enjoy teaching languages as I believe is the best way to share one's culture.

About the lesson

Hello,

I am an experienced tutor (+5 years) with a master's degree in Linguistics (with a special focus on language acquisition) and I hold a certificate in teaching Italian as a foreign language. I'm currently working as an Italian language assistant at a secundary school in South Dublin (2nd to 6th years). I use a communicative approach but still believe grammar is essential for language learning! Lessons will be tailored to suit the learner's needs (Leaving Cert exam, work purposes, speaking skills for adults, etc). All these matters will be discussed in advance, in order to create a personal lesson plan. All ages and levels are welcome!
