About Silvia
I'm from the North of Italy, I lived in Spain during my Erasmus exchange and now I moved to Middlesbrough, in the UK. I have a Master's degree in Classics, I taught Italian, Latin, Greek, History and Geography in elementary, middle and high school in Italy. I have a CEDILS certification for teaching the Italian language to non-native speakers. I also followed a post graduate course about teaching methodologies for the integration of persons with specific learning disorders.

My teaching methodology considers the most recent studies on strategic and motivated learning, because I think that teachers should always be up-to-date on teaching techniques and they should have interdisciplinary skills. I believe that a solid base of grammar has to be built beside innovative and practical execises where communicative competence can be developed. I also take into account the cultural background of students as it has an important role as well as their language abilities. Finally, my lessons are also about culture and history, that are fundamental to learn Italian and Latin languages.
