About Christos

My name is Christos, but people often call me Chris!
I'm a university student currently in my 3rd year, studying at Princeton University in the US. I'm doing Computer Science with a minor in Philosophy! I'm currently on an exchange semester at UCL, studying philosophy full-time. Oh and my home is the beautiful Mediterranean island of Cyprus!

Last summer, through my university, I took part in a summer course which had me do a very close reading of Plato's Republic. The text convinced me that the most promising - and sometimes only - way of really enacting change in society is through education. I come from a family of teachers; my mum and two of my grandparents are/were teachers, and I myself am well aware of the benefits that a good education and good teachers have given me.

All these factors fuse to create in me a strong disposition towards teaching, and a conviction in how much good it can do.

I want to be as good a teacher and role model as some of my own teachers were for me, and pass on the good that I was blessed with. Looking forward to working with you!

About the lesson

I will be honest - I do not have experience in tutoring. Nevertheless, I was always the friend who others came to for explaining difficult concepts, and found myself very capable of doing so.

I aced my GCSEs and A-Levels, even attaining a "Highest Mark In Europe" in Maths GCSE in 2018 and in Chemistry GCSE in 2019.

I promise to be empathetic in my lessons, doing the most I can to figure out how to best help each student, not just to do well in the taught subject, but to teach them to identify overarching themes and optimise their own learning strategy.

I can do both GCSE and A-Level. I'll take students of any age, and I'm happy to help with any particular topic within my taught subjects!
