About Shinji

I was born in Yatsushiro City (Kumamoto Prefecture), Japan, in 1965. After graduating from high school, I lived in Tokyo for about 20 years before moving to Australia. I graduated from Tama Art University in Tokyo. I moved to Brisbane, Australia in 2004. I've been running my business as a full-time watercolor artist since 2010. I also teach drawing/painting online. I moved back to my hometown Japan in 2024. The most exciting subjects for me to draw or paint are human figures or other organic subjects, but I also enjoy painting other things such as landscapes and buildings. Although I mainly use pencil/ink and watercolor, I am open to teaching and helping with all kinds of traditional media and techniques. I will help you on your journey to find your style and teach you all the technical skills you need to be a professional or casual artist. You can check my website below. (concealed information)

About the lesson

My class is an online private lesson, but I’m also doing a couple of group lessons from my home studio in Kumamoto, Japan. My students are always relaxed and enjoy doing their art activities while listening to nice Jazz BGM. I suggest 5 lesson tickets or 10 lesson tickets because it’s a reasonable price and in that time I can help you improve your techniques. Please inquire and make a booking now and enjoy discounts. Each class is 90 min. $30 per person for one lesson. $40 for pair tickets and $60 for triple tickets (Using one lesson together). $130 for 5 tickets and $240 for 10 tickets.
