About Maria

I want to teach Japanese so I can contribute to the growth of Japanese language in the UK. It is a unique language to the extent that it makes us think and understand the world different through the lens of its grammar and vocabulary.

Japanese is also a language that opens up many opportunities both in academia and in the job market. It will be a great addition on your CV. As a teacher, I dedicate my life to improving your prospects in succeeding in life, as that brings me the most satisfaction and joy.

If you are studying Japanese just as a hobby, it is still highly beneficial for your brain, as it trains you how to think in a different language and understand the world around you differently. The overall health of the brain is also improved by learning how to write in Japanese, as it employs several areas of cognition.

About the lesson

My method of teaching Japanese is unique as I focus on creating clear parallels between Japanese and your native language. The process of learning Japanese with me will feel very easy going despite the volume of knowledge you gain throughout a two hour lesson.
I also employ a multidisciplinary teaching method by delving into Japanese culture and history to explain grammatical and linguistic concepts.
My goal is not to teach you just how to read, write and speak in Japanese, but to also teach how to think in Japanese. You will learn the first two alphabets in no time and will be able to speak basic Japanese after just two courses.

My classes are dedicated to complete beginners as well as somewhat experienced (meaning you passed JLPT N5). The lessons will be two hours long and will occur weekly. I work with a wide age rage, starting from 12 years old until 45 years old. You will receive study materials from me as well as homework after each lesson. Further, I will teach you how to learn vocabulary in a consistent and low-maintenance way.

My current qualifications are JLPT N5, N4 and N3 as well as my experience as a teacher for over three years. I am currently working with educational centres, schools and private students.
