About Akari
I am a native Japanese speaker. I have taught children Japanese for 4 years, from toddlers to 8 years olds. The students that I've taught learnt Japanese for travel, interest in Japanese culture, as well as preparation in moving to Japan.

Children are fast learners, and they learn differently from adults. Little children, unlike adults, don't learn and remember a language by fully understanding the grammar and sentence structures, etc.
I have been teaching children Japanese without the need of explaining the structures/rules of Japanese. I treat students like local Japanese children, and in this way, they learn Japanese naturally.
I speak only Japanese during lessons (if parents request), and I provide exercises, worksheets and activities depending on the level, age and purpose of learning (e.g. travel, culture, moving, general, conversation, etc).
I always end a lesson with a Japanese picture book or a Japanese children song.
