About Matt

My teaching approach for guitar is rooted in positivity, understanding, and accountability. I create a welcoming and encouraging environment where students feel comfortable exploring music and expressing themselves freely. I believe that a positive mindset is essential for learning, so I celebrate every achievement, no matter how small, to maintain motivation and confidence.

Understanding each student’s unique learning style is central to my methodology. I tailor lessons to their pace, interests, and goals, combining traditional techniques with modern approaches such as improvisation, beat-making, and ear training. This balanced approach ensures that students understand core concepts clearly while enjoying a creative and engaging learning process.

I also help students set realistic goals, track their progress, and receive consistent constructive feedback. Alongside guitar instruction, I teach music theory, composition, and songwriting to provide a well-rounded musical education. My overall aim is to help students grow in confidence, develop strong skills, and cultivate a lasting love for music.

About the lesson

I’m a passionate Guitar tutor with over 2 years of experience, specializing in teaching college students. My teaching style is friendly, supportive, and adaptable, making sure each lesson suits the student’s learning pace and goals. I focus on building strong foundations in chords, scales, strumming, and rhythm, while also nurturing creativity and musical expression. Every lesson is designed to be engaging, interactive, and enjoyable.

I use innovative methods like improvisation, ear training, and beat-making to help students connect theory with real music. By incorporating popular songs and real-life examples, I make learning practical, fun, and relevant to students’ musical interests. My goal is to make complex concepts easy to understand and help students feel confident in their playing.

Besides Guitar, I also guide students in music theory, composition, and songwriting. I encourage goal-setting and track progress to ensure steady improvement. My approach combines patience, motivation, and structured guidance, helping students not just learn, but truly enjoy their musical journey and reach their full potential.
