I prefer to learn what kind of learner my student is as soon as possible, so I can tailor the teaching towards what works best for them. Some students understand music theory better by listening to how two pieces can be played differently depending on the articulations and dynamics, whereas some retain the information better by seeing it notated, and sometimes it's a combination of these approaches.
I have been tutoring Music Theory and Piano lessons one on one for approximately ten months, juggling approximately eight different students over various periods of that time and not a single of my students have failed an examination that I've assisted them in. I was a part of both the jazz band and concert band during high school and played several instruments across both, and have composed music for video games and short videos.
Throughout highschool I took part in both of our school bands, playing several instruments across them and competing in events such as the nationwide, annual "Generations in Jazz" hosted in Mount Gambier and the ABODA Competition hosted at Marryatville High School. I have also composed several scores for short films and video games.
