Hi, I'm Jiya, a second-year medical student at Brighton and Sussex Medical School. I teach maths and biology for GCSE and A-level. I have tutoring experience in maths, teaching at a GCSE level.

About Jiya
Secondary school shapes an individual into having the highest aspirations, and grades should not prevent anyone from reaching where they want to. I aim to see my students improve not only in their skills, but also in their own confidence, growing their passion for learning. Supporting students on this journey would be an honour.
I have achieved A*, A*, A in biology, maths and chemistry at A-level and whilst studying, I tutored in GCSE maths, and JavaScript to students aged between 7-15.

About the lesson

Lessons will consist of initially gaining an understanding of what the student feels less/more confident on, in a particular topic, so we can focus on areas that they need extra help in. Whilst teaching content, questions will be embedded throughout so they can practise what they have learnt, in addition to their answers providing me with an insight of their understanding of the topic. Content for biology will be taught through lots of diagrams, and for maths, we will run through lots of questions together before they answer them individually. Following the lesson, I will provide homework so they can continue to apply their knowledge, and we would run through this at the start of the next lesson. A lesson will last for an hour, and if more time is required, adjustments can be made.
