About James
Hi there! I’ve just finished school and am currently on a gap year. For A levels I did French, Latin and Economics, receiving ABB respectively. I also completed the DELF B2 in June 2022. I hope to use my linguistic background to go to France for university as I have always been keen to broaden my language skills as I think studying MFL opens many doors for future careers and experiences. I am extremely understanding of the challenges that language students face - personally I used to struggle a lot with French, but I found that nailing the basics made quick progress so much easier! Besides languages, I was also a music scholar at school and did a lot of singing in choral settings as well as in close harmony/barbershop groups. I love listening to French music too, and find it a fun way to broaden vocabulary as well as improve listening skills. I hope to meet you soon!

I am a new tutor looking to give extra help to French GCSE students who are keen to improve their exam technique and language skills. As someone who has recently completed A levels and DELF B2, I am very familiar with the stresses that can arise in preparation for these exams and so I favour a calm and friendly learning atmosphere in which you can broaden your knowledge without the chaos of a busy classroom. Though I have no official tutoring experience, during my A levels when I needed a break from revision I helped GCSE students with their French and they found it very helpful so I am confident I can help you with any GCSE queries you may have. I am also looking to attend University in France to further my language skills. Lessons will typically be 1 hour with a 5 minute break, though I am more than happy to tailor lessons to your needs!
