About Kiddo

Hi, my name is Vicki I am a happy bubbly person to meet always happy to have a chat and a coffee. I have always wanted to be a teacher I am currently studying to become a primary school teacher. I have had the best 3 years in child care helping children reach milestones and get ready for primary school, with my tutoring business I want to be able to still give kids that one-on-one learning experience before they get to primary school or if they are in primary school and just needing that extra help. This is a new journey for me to be able to help kids and families out here in the rural country areas.

I have worked in childcare for the past 3 years, have a Certificate 3 in early childhood education and care, and have also worked with children checks for VIC and NSW.

Over my time I have worked with all different types of children also including children with behavior issues, anxiety, ADHD, shy, non-verbal and children that are needing that one-on-one support to help them get ready to start primary school.

I offer a 1-hour free consultation to meet the parents or carers, as well as the child I will be working with one-on-one. During this time, I will be looking at what the parents are looking at focus on in these tutoring sessions, noting that if the child is developmentally delayed and needs additional support in focusing areas of learning.

It could be as simple as reading, writing, and spelling. numeracy, language and communication; or could be cognitive, social, emotional, confidence and independent development, as well as making sure that it is done in a fun, stress-free environment, by learning through play for any age.

About the lesson

I believe every child can succeed in mathematics when they feel supported, encouraged, and understood. My approach is centered around building confidence first, then developing the skills and knowledge each child needs at their own pace. I understand that every child learns differently, so I personalize each lesson to match their individual learning style, strengths, interests, and goals.

I create a positive, relaxed learning environment where children feel safe to ask questions, make mistakes, and celebrate their achievements. Rather than simply teaching children to memorize answers, I help them understand why mathematical concepts work through hands-on learning, games, visual resources, real-life examples, and engaging activities.

I break complex concepts into smaller, manageable steps, allowing children to master one skill before moving on to the next. This approach is especially beneficial for children who experience anxiety, ADHD, autism, learning difficulties, or who simply need extra time and one-on-one support.

My lessons encourage children to develop problem-solving skills, logical thinking, resilience, and independence. I use positive reinforcement to celebrate every success, no matter how small, helping children build confidence and develop a positive attitude towards mathematics.

Whether a child is learning to count, mastering multiplication, understanding fractions, solving word problems, or preparing for classroom assessments, I tailor each lesson to meet their individual needs while keeping learning enjoyable and engaging.

Above all, my goal is to help every child discover that mathematics can be fun, achievable, and rewarding. By creating strong foundations and fostering confidence, I aim to develop lifelong learners who are willing to challenge themselves and enjoy the learning journey.
