About Emir Can
Hello, I am Emir, a prospective 6th Form Student and King's Scholar at Westminster School with a passion for maths and problem solving. I have been through the 11+ and 13+ scholarship process myself very recently and with success, which gives me the scope to help younger students on their own path to secondary school. Furthermore, I am a two-time BMO Candidate, achieving Merit both times, and Maclaurin Olympiad silver-medallist. These are the highest-tier accolades I have achieved in UKMT, but I have also received medals in the Junior and Intermediate Challenges and Olympiads, and I have several times achieved 100% in the Intermediate and Senior Mathematical Challenges. I have received a grade 9 (A**) in GCSE French, which I took a year early, and this year I received 12 9s in Maths, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, English Language, English Literature, History, Spanish, Computer Science, Latin and Classical (Ancient) Greek. My French is well beyond GCSE level due to my participation in an exchange and consumption of multimedia such as books and shows over the 5 years that I've been studying it, giving me scope to teach it up to and including GCSE level. I am also able to teach Maths up to and including GCSE level.

I am happy to tailor lessons to each of my students, depending on their needs and wishes. Lessons will be a mixture of questions and content, with homework set every lesson. Lessons can be as long as the student wishes. Learning is not a process of spoon-feeding, so lessons will be based on questions and hints to gradually lead the student to an answer. In this way, we can tackle problems beyond the expected level of the student.
