About Kiran
Hi! I’m Kiran — a recent graduate from George Mason University’s Honors College with a B.S. in Neuroscience and a minor in Data Science. I bring several years of tutoring experience in Math, Science, and College Prep Essay Writing, and I’m passionate about helping students build confidence, master tough concepts, and reach their academic goals.
I’ve worked with middle school, high school, and college students both virtually and in person. My tutoring background includes leadership roles in Science National Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta (Math Honor Society), and National English Honor Society. I specialize in simplifying complex ideas and tailoring my approach to each student’s learning style.
Subjects I tutor include:
Math: Algebra I, Geometry, Trigonometry, Pre-Calculus, and Calculus (scored a 5 on the AP Calculus AB exam)
Science: AP Biology, Chemistry, Earth Science, Cell Biology, and Genetics
College Prep: Essay brainstorming, personal statement editing, and application strategy
As President of the Science Olympiad Club, I led meetings, trained new members, and helped our team place in the top 3 at Regional and State-level tournaments across events in biology, chemistry, forensic science, and engineering. I also assisted teachers with lab setup, grading, and tutoring students in biology and chemistry.
I was accepted to Purdue, UMD, Virginia Tech, GWU, and Fordham — and I enjoy helping students through the college application process, especially with writing standout essays that reflect their voice.
I offer flexible scheduling and can tutor virtually via Zoom or in person (depending on location).
