About Shannon
Hi!
I have always found supporting others to build their understanding and knowledge in a positive and effective way, to be a big part of me.
My goals have changed over the years, I started of desiring to be a police officer within a child support role. I then desired to be in childcare, shaping the futures first hand. Completing my level 3 diploma, continuing onto my level 4.
I then changed my field after becoming a parent, because, whilst I loved working with children, it was so much different to having my own also!
I went into mental health, furthering my education into mental health, using my level 4 to support a psychology degree.
I believe there is a crucial link to both mental health, to parenting, to child development, to society, to struggles.
I'm passionate to support others to understand such links and ways to minimise and support those experiencing such issues.

Early years development shapes the building blocks for a child's life.
There are many different aspects that create a child's upbringing, such as parenting, experiences, environment, personal circumstances, health, the list goes on.
Parenting has changed over the years, our experiences in life have changed over the years, it's important to understand how all factors can contribute to a larger picture.
I believe a holistic approach in understanding child development in the early years, and, how those supporting children in this age range, can have positive and effective practice and support is vital to enable children to thrive.
