I've known many people throughout my school life who hated math or associated the subject with negative feelings. I want to work towards removing those fears and anxiety towards learning!

Shruti is someone who has become a very close friend of mine while attending school together. Part of what makes her such a good friend is her ability to help others when needed, whether it’s with personal matters or academics. She is by far one of the best math students in our grade, which I believe is largely due to her strong love for the subject and high motivation to preform beyond what is expected for her age. After taking Pre-Calc over last summer and AP Calc as a Junior, she plans on taking two AP math courses her Senior year. But what even separates my friend from other students at her level is her ability to support others with any academic problems in a way that helps them feel confident about the subject rather than shamed. I myself am more of a humanities person, and whenever I have gone to Shruti with a question regarding Math or Chem, she is always more than happy to help me with the subject matter. Shruti’s high knowledge in STEM combined with her strong sense of companionship has made her a very approachable person for me and my other peers as she explains the material in a casual fashion. Being good at a subject is one thing, but being able to assist others without any judgement takes a higher level of maturity than most people realize. I owe many of my quiz grades to her help.
