About KAREN
I have a degree in Biochemistry and a PGCE. During my teaching career I progressed to Head of Science and have extensive experience over 11 years of teaching students in the 11-18 age range and of all abilities.
I have been tutoring for 16 years in all 3 Sciences form KS2 up to GCSE and Chemistry and Biology to A level. I actively keep abreast of curricular developments and am familiar with the different exam boards current specifications.
Since 2007 I have been a G.C.S.E and 'A' level Physics exam marker for Pearson Edexcel exam group as well as preparing teaching resources for Save my exams..
Several of my 'A' level students who were performing at grade D at AS level have gained A/A* in their final exams/ assessments. One of my G.C.S.E students who lacked confidence at KS3 recently attained level 9/8 in science.

I regard my teaching style as enthusiastic and resourceful both within a group or on a one-to-one basis. I aim to motivate by practising a variety of teaching and learning strategies adapted to the needs of the individual with a focus on a student-centred approach..
I will always discuss with the student about the exam board they are studying and which topics they want to focus on prior to the first less.
