About Alfred
I provide patient, well-paced lessons tailored to each student’s individual needs. I understand that science can feel overwhelming, especially for students who are struggling or lacking confidence, so I focus on building understanding step by step in a calm and supportive way. I can also provide lots of support if you are struggling with the transition between primary and secondary.
With experience teaching in both secondary schools and post-16 education, I know how to adapt my approach to suit different learning styles and abilities. I also have experience supporting students transitioning from primary to secondary school, helping them feel more confident and prepared.
My lessons last 1–2 hours and are structured yet flexible, giving you the time you need to ask questions, practise skills, and make real progress.

I am a patient and approachable online science tutor with experience teaching students across KS3 and GCSE level. I specialise in supporting students who are struggling with science, lack confidence, or are finding the transition into secondary school challenging.
My teaching style is calm, well-paced, and highly adaptable. I take time to understand how each student learns and tailor lessons to suit their individual needs. Whether a student needs concepts broken down step-by-step, extra time to revisit foundations, or alternative explanations to make things click, I adjust my approach to help them succeed.
Lessons typically last 1–2 hours and are structured but flexible. Sessions include clear explanations, guided practice, regular checks for understanding, and exam-style questions where appropriate. I aim to create a supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and building confidence.
