I believe that exceptional learning happens when a student feels supported and creatively inspired. My approach is warm, encouraging and rigorous. I tailor my lessons to help ambitious students unlock their unique voices and talent.
As a professional actor, writer and highly experienced acting teacher, I draw on a variety of techniques:
Contemporary and Classical textual analysis- using a detailed approach to text based on Stanislavski
the Meisner Technique- building presence, emotional truth and instinctive, authentic performances
Classical Shakespearean Techniques- Mastering Verse Speaking, rhythm, and decoding the text
I specialise in LAMDA Grade 6 and above through to professional and university/drama school level.
As an award winning playwright I also teach creative writing and essay writing to students from GCSE and beyond.
Qualifications- trained at LAMDA on the 3 year professional acting course. MA in Shakespeare and Performance at the Shakespeare Institute.
I have taught acting and drama in a wide variety of contexts including classes at drama schools such as Cambridge School of Visual and Performing Arts, the Sorbonne University. Cambridge School of Continuing Education and Anglia Ruskin.
