About Maimoona
I have a wealth of experience in management and business development in the Private, Retail Service and NPO sector. I have over 20 years working in various strategic executive management and operational roles. I have experience in skills training and development for youth since 2005 within rural communities. I have also been instrumental in major fundraising projects for my company Bridge the Gap in order to create sustainability for the youth who were from marginalized communities. My role as Provincial Executive I mainly dealt with Public local government and Private sector and National stakeholders. In my current role as Vice Chair for Women in Business at the Durban Chamber of Commerce and Industry, I also assist women in their respective businesses to identify opportunities and assist to pathway them into diversifying their business scope, in order for them to remain relevant and sustainable. I am also trained in management and leadership programs. I am passionate about entrepreneurship, youth and women empowerment. I was also active with identifying barriers of exclusion for youth and women and have illustrated success with implementation of plans to enhance empowerment.
