About Danielle

I have a Bachelor of Portuguese (Linguistics, Literature, and Cultural Studies) and a Masters of Literary Theory, both obtained in Brazil.

In Australia, I studied English for Academic Purposes at Curtin University (2016-2017) and CELTA (Certificate of Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages), a Cambridge University course offered at Lexis English.

I have been giving private lessons since 2012 to Brazilian and foreigners to help them gain confidence in their presentation skills and their writing of academic papers, thesis, and essays. I have also worked as an English Teacher in Brazil, teaching kids, teenagers, and adults.

In Perth, I have been working as an English as a Second Language Teacher at local English schools and have also been helping migrants and refugees to improve their English skills as a classroom volunteer for the Adult Migrant English Program (AMEP North Tafe).

About the lesson

I can help you develop confidence, curiosity and understanding of Brazilian Portuguese Language and Culture. Suitable for absolute beginners to advanced. I am an experienced Portuguese and English as a Second Language Teacher, both in Brazil and Australia.

My students will have different intentions with the language: tourism, business, children born in Australia to a Brazilian mother/father, accent reduction for English-speakers. The first class will focus on identifying these intentions and your preferred learning style.

I'll make sure that classes are delivered in a coherent, dynamic and creative way. I am able to elaborate lessons that will focus on different aspects of the language (speaking, listening, reading and writing skills) as well as the different contexts of communication (casual, academic, business).

We hit it off immediately and when I wanted to improve my portuguese to communicate better with my husband's family, I reached out to Dani for help.
