About Lucas

I believe that the best way to learn anything is to aim for the stars, and if you fall, you'll land on the moon. When I first picked up chess, I had a coach - in a sense. He was an extremely gifted classmate who was 2k at the time and we would just spend every lesson playing instead of listening to our actual curriculum material. Of course, I never got to win in the beginning. But it was this harsh regiment and constant revision of our position at the end of each match with someone rated much higher than myself that taught me to think like a professional. He didn't teach me any openings beyond the basic scotch line, and I couldn't be bothered to learn any at the time. But what I did pick up and reflected in games with other Chess.com players as well as IRL games with players of 1600~ FIDE rating was an exceptionally strong understanding of positional play, intuitive calculation and strategy. It's extremely simple to learn, although it may not be easy, but I love the journey, and I'd love to take you through it.

About the lesson

I went from 400 to 1800 chess.com rating in 4 months by learning the intuitive skills and psychological maneuvers that I will teach you to crush your peers.

There comes a plateau in every beginner's journey, and you will always get overwhelmed by the prospect of delving into things like opening theory, endgame theory or tactics.

If you're between 300-800 elo on Chess.com, I can teach how to maneuver like a 1k+ fide player and break through that threshold that's been holding you back.

I'll refine your openings or teach you my personal favorites for white and black, do live reviews while playing against each other and refine both your strategical and positional play. Learning things like tempo, sacrifices, positional play should come intuitively and I'll make sure you grasp that while we play.
