About Alisya

A little bit about me, I’m a dancer from Indonesia, currently living in Melbourne for university.

I was originally trained in ballet, then moved to hip-hop and modern dance. I’m self-taught in contemporary, using my gymnastics background to help me navigate through various styles of dance.

I’ve been trained in hip-hop the longest, doing performances, concerts and regional competitions for 10+ years. I’ve taught dancers at all levels in various styles and choreographed for concerts and performances. It’s always a blast working with people of various dance backgrounds!

About the lesson

Hey! This is for everyone who wants to learn dance regardless of the level you’re at!

Learning how to dance can be made fun and easier—I break down long dance phrases to shorter movements to assist in skill acquisition, then connect movements step by step into a full choreography.

Regardless of which level you’re at, I focus on improving your basic skills and help you to acquire new ones. The important thing is to make you comfortable! I’m adaptive in my teaching; I accommodate for everyone at all levels and adjust my teaching methods and pace to your individual needs. Anything to help you grow as a dancer!

Besides having been trained in ballet and contemporary dance, I usually teach hip-hop and modern dance as I’ve been trained the longest in this style. I’ve taught and choreographed for performances and concerts, as well as being a member and leader in competitive dance teams. As someone who has learnt various styles from beginner to advanced levels, I’ll be sure to modify my teaching based on your needs and comfortability!

I’m open to teach anyone at all levels, aged 12 and above, in small groups or privates. As long as you’re interested in dance! Lessons are 1-1.5 hours, nothing to overwhelm you.

I was Alisya's junior back in highschool and i can say that she was one of the best dancers out there!! Alisya taught a lot of choreographies which were used in school shows and contents. She brings off sharp movements and can teach a lot of different genres in dance, like hiphop and contemporary. I can tell that she enjoys teaching dance the moment that she even sacrificed her IB exam schedule and injuries just for me and my friends to perform. Anyone should at least give Alisya a try cuz she also has the sweetest soul 🥹🥹
