About Matt
Having trained DJs and producers of all levels for more than a decade I have developed a methodical, practical and tested curriculum featuring tips, tricks and advice from 20+ years on stage and in the studio.
You'll be completely up and running by the end of the first session, mixing your first tracks and developing your practice schedule. With targeted goals in place, we'll together build up your skill level and get you where you want to be quickly and with constant support throughout.
No two sessions are the same, focusing on taking what you've learned each week, refining and then adding to, to build a comprehensive base and building from there.
For those that have been in the game for a bit, sessions include review, analysis, feedback and comments on your mixes/performances, style and discussions on how you can take what you've learned and get it out there for all to see.

Suitable for everyone from beginners to advanced and pro-level, each session is packed with everything you'll need to take your skills to the next level, whether that's recording your first mix, getting up to speed on the latest equipment, perfecting complex transitions or learning the do's and don'ts of effects, each course is tailored to your experience and goals with achievable outcomes and lessons that develop as you do.
I teach all styles of electronic music such as Techno, House, Grime, EDM, Hip Hop and more including multi-format and more alternative styles.
Are you a DJ looking to get into production? I also teach sessions on remixing, creating DJ edits/mashups and live performance.
Example session plan: DJing - Beginner
Session 1 - Establish style (genre) and goals. Equipment Overview, complete your first mix!
Session 2 - Quick refresh of session 1, music selection (where to find music and what to play when), establishing your DJ persona/brand.
Session 3 - Mixing (longer mixes), basic effects, hardware/software advice, music theory.
Session 4 - Genre specific mixing techniques (looping, rewinds, acapellas) building your music collection, mix recording preparation.
Session 5 - Final mix preparation, Mix recording (and/or overview)
Session 6 - Mix feedback, promotional platforms and best practices, establishing your online presence, mix release and promotion, next steps.
