About Greg

My background is in the corporate office life however I was not happy with that life so I did the "impossible" and left the well-paying corporate world to pursue what I loved most - music. In 2013 I packed my bags in Virginia, traveled across the country and landed in San Diego to become a full-time DJ. It took some time but I did it and now I am proud to say I am one of the busiest DJs in San Diego. That's aside from teaching which I have done for almost as long as I have been DJing - unofficially since 2015. I took the leap and left all other sources of income to DJ full-time in 2019 and have been happily gigging since. I've taught one-on-one sessions for those who want to learn the art of DJing since 2017. I run camps for kids every year and workshops for adults when they come up. One of my favorite students, has a mental disability, and I see him weekly. In summary, I've taught for a long time and have taught from all walks of life and love it. I'm blessed to be doing what I love and teaching others to do the same.

About the lesson

All levels and all ages are welcome. I've taught an 80 year old couple, a 65 year old corporate boss, a 4 year old, groups of kids and everyone in between.

My experience with teaching so many different students over the years makes my teaching acumen second to none. I also DJ an average of 22 gigs a month so I can always relay new findings from the dancefloors to my students in next to real time.

Progression is always the goal and we can start anywhere. Whether you're brand spankin' new to the art or a vinyl veteran, Mission: DJ's customized lesson plans will drive you to your goals.

DJing can be very technical and has many moving parts but fear not - anyone can learn. Everyone learns at different speeds so we'll tackle the skills that you want to learn together, at YOUR pace.

Students will be provided with a lesson plan as well as notes following their lessons. Occasionally there will be homework but lets be honest, this is homework you'll finally look forward to!
