About Tessa

I am a dedicated guitar teacher with over eleven years of experience guiding students toward their musical goals. My background includes a Diploma of Music with a specialization in guitar, which shaped my deep understanding of performance and technique. I have coached learners for live shows, studio recordings, auditions, and music school entry. I focus on building confidence as much as skill. Stage presence is something I emphasize early, helping students feel comfortable and expressive in front of any audience. My teaching style is encouraging, structured, and always centered on each student’s artistic voice. I believe creative freedom is essential, so I give learners space to explore their own sound while guiding them with clear steps. Technique, tone control, and musical precision are strengthened through steady and practical exercises. I also help students understand how to communicate emotion through their playing. Every lesson is designed to push potential without pressure. My goal is to help each guitarist develop excellence, authenticity, and a strong musical identity.

About the lesson

My teaching approach focuses on helping students build strong guitar skills through clear steps and practical music-making. I start by understanding each learner’s style, goals, and comfort level. Together, we develop solid technique, clean fingering, and confident rhythm. I guide students who enjoy expressive and detailed playing by showing them how to shape melodies with clarity and emotion. Those who love powerful, bold styles receive full support in mastering control, speed, and creative expression.
I also include ensemble playing to help students listen and blend with others. Group coordination exercises strengthen timing, balance, and awareness. Rhythmic layering activities train students to hold their part while interacting musically in real time.
We explore strumming patterns, picking styles, and musical phrasing through simple step-by-step practice. Improvisation is added to build confidence and creativity. Each lesson encourages steady progress, positive habits, and a growing passion for the guitar.
