About Liam
Hi, I’m Liam Bowditch. I'm a professional musician, singer-songwriter, and producer with over a decade of experience performing live and creating music. I’m the frontman and co-founder of The Vultures, an Australian indie rock band that’s played major festivals, released multiple records, and built a strong following over the years. After an amazing music career so far, I want to give back the knowledge I’ve gained and help inspire others to explore the art form I love so deeply. My teaching style is fun, relaxed, and engaging. I focus on practical, real-world skills that get you playing music quickly, rather than overwhelming you with theory. Whether you’re just starting out, looking to improve your technique, or wanting to dive into different genres, I’ll tailor each lesson to your goals and interests. Music has given me so much, and I’m passionate about helping others find the same joy and creative expression through the guitar.

My approach to teaching is holistic and student-focused -lessons are designed around your goals, style, and aspirations. Whether you’re picking up a guitar for the first time or wanting to refine your technique, my aim is to give you the tools, knowledge, and confidence to discover your own sound.
I believe in a practical, hands-on approach to learning. While we’ll cover music theory to support your playing, my lessons focus more on actually making music. Learning by feel, by ear, and by intuition, rather than just reading from a textbook or watching online videos.
I want to create a safe, collaborative space where you can explore, make mistakes, jam, and learn by doing. We’ll play together, work through riffs, chord progressions, improvisation, and techniques, while also developing your understanding of tone, dynamics, and expression.
As a self-taught musician myself, I know the power of learning through playing - experimenting, making mistakes, and improving by doing. That’s the environment I create for my students.
What We’ll Cover:
Depending on your level and goals, lessons may include:
- mastering the fretboard and building finger dexterity
- learning riffs, licks, and solos across genres
- improvisation and creative expression
- understanding chord shapes, progressions, and song structure
- developing rhythm, timing, and groove
- songwriting and creating your own music
- jamming and playing with others
I have a strong background in blues, rock, and pop, with solid knowledge across styles like funk, country, and jazz, so we can tailor lessons to your preferred genres.

Experience: I’ve been playing guitar since I was 10 years old (now 29), performing professionally across Australia, including resort residencies, festivals, and venues nationwide.
For: All levels, all ages - from complete beginners to intermediate and advanced players looking to refine their craft.
My goal is simple: to inspire your creativity and help you build a solid foundation on the guitar, while keeping lessons fun, engaging, and tailored to you. Whether you want to jam, write songs, perform live, or just play for enjoyment, I’ll guide you every step of the way.
