About Sama
I am currently a Medical Doctor and PhD researcher studying the effect of environmental on human cardiovascular health. My background in cardiology training as a resident gave me great insight into patient-centred care and clinical reasoning as well as, and clinical research. Alongside one year of cardiology residency, I have nearly two years of experience teaching medical students as an associate professor, which shaped my approach to clear, structured, and student-centred education. As a physician-academic, enjoy teaching because I believe medical knowledge should feel logical, connected, and empowering, not overwhelming. My goal is to create a supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, developing clinical reasoning, and building confidence in their abilities. I take pride in being a patient, reliable mentor who is genuinely invested in each student’s progress and long-term growth; no matter how small.

I am a physician-academic with one year of clinical cardiology residency experience, an interdisciplinary PhD researcher investigating effects of environmental factors on cardiovascular health, and nearly two years of university-level teaching experience as an associate professor. My lessons are structured, evidence-based, and designed to build deep understanding, clinical reasoning, and academic confidence rather than rote learning. Each lesson follows a standardised curriculum built on credible academic resources, tailored to your level and goals. Sessions are typically 1 hour, conducted in English, and are highly interactive. (I may tailor the resources to your references in specific cases)
Internal Medicine package: Covers core Internal Medicine systems and clinical reasoning categories commonly tested in postgraduate medicine, based on authoritative resources (e.g. Oxford Handbook of Clinical Medicine, Harrison’s, George & Mathews). We walk through concepts together, identify weaknesses, and target them using mind maps, flashcards, focused tasks, and personalised learning roadmaps in the next session each time.
Cardiology package: Focused on ECG foundations and advanced interpretation, echocardiography essentials, common cardiology complaints, physiology and pathophysiology, and simplified guideline-based ECG reasoning. Structured notes are provided.
Research package: Covers research methodology, scientific writing, PRISMA-based evidence synthesis, literature searching, reference management tools (e.g. citation managers, notebooks), and biostatistics from basic to advanced levels.
Exam Prep package: Covers requirements of board exams such as PLAB, OET, or your shelf exams. Subject to specific individual discussions and requires dedicated sessions.
These lessons are suitable for undergraduate medical students, postgraduate doctors, cardiology residents, and medical professionals preparing for board examinations. My goal is to help you build skills that last beyond exams.
