About Isabella
I am a professional freelance dance artist based in Brisbane, and have been performing for the last 22 years, and teaching for the past 6 years. I am currently an associate artist and community teacher with Australasian Dance Collective and have been performing and teaching for them for the past 4 years. I am passionate about teaching contemporary dance to emerging and young artists, as there is a different level of training and understanding required to dance and later perform at a professional standard. I have seen many students flourish in my classes, growing in confidence, dedication and skill. I always endeavour to bring joy and freedom to my classes, to balance out the high level of discipline required to learn and harness dance.
I also have my RAD teaching qualification.

I believe that foundational strength, flexibility and mobility are all important factors to develop alongside learning the techniques of contemporary dance, particularly in floor work, partnering, coordination and stability. Once this support is set up, we can then start to layer on freedom and release in movement. This is where we find the softness in the body, whilst harnessing the strength in energy momentum. This creates a strong fluid body that is adaptable and articulate yet stable. Grounded and expressive.
