About Matthew
I believe I can make a difference to the development of young children, influencing their lives in a way that will lead to a more accepting, tolerant and knowledgeable society. I am a brilliant motivator, deliverer and portray an interest and willingness to teaching and learning. I have had vast experience in tutoring children for the 7 and 8 + exams as well as generally helping, guiding, structuring and securing areas that a child needs boosting in. I have travelled to many countries, as a tutor with families, during school holidays, especially during the years I lived and taught in London. The most significant areas of teaching, both in tutoring and within the classroom, I have encountered have been in reflection, holistic learning, creativity and intrinsic commitment to life-long learning. I feel that these attributes are the pinnacle of the teaching profession. Combining these elements with a belief in the children, allowing patience in teaching and learning, praising effort rather than ability and constantly reinforcing self-esteem, ensures more students are effectively targeted. I believe I have what it takes to be a great, effective teacher, and am committed to being a teacher who makes a difference. Matthew is a passionate and energetic teacher who engages fully with all the pupils he teaches.
