Learn spanish now! any level, 15 years teaching, accurate and assertive, communication focus,

My wife and I met Silvia when visiting Mexico a few years ago. Since then we have been doing weekly Spanish lessons by zoom. We have done both grammar and conversational Spanish. She is an excellent teacher because she encourages us to speak and write so we can be understood and to listen so we can understand. We enjoy the lessons and look forward to them. Now when we travel, we can communicate more confidently in Spanish!

Carmen was everything I could ask for in a teacher. She made language practice authentic while pushing me to challenge myself. She was also a joy to spend time with. I appreciate her ability to weave a local understanding with practice using syntax and vocabulary. I grew significantly in our week together and hope to continue our work together.

English

I highly recommend Professor Silvia as a Spanish teacher. I started taking lessons with her while I was living in Oaxaca, and she quickly became one of the most valuable parts of my Spanish learning experience. She is patient, encouraging, and incredibly good at making you feel comfortable speaking, even when you make mistakes.

What I especially appreciate is how natural our lessons feel. We talk about real life, travel, culture, and whatever comes up in conversation, so I’m learning Spanish that I can actually use outside of class. She has a great way of correcting mistakes while keeping the conversation flowing, and she always helps me feel more confident rather than self-conscious.

Professor Silvia genuinely cares about her students and their progress. I’ve become much more confident speaking Spanish because of her, and I would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for a thoughtful, engaging, and supportive Spanish teacher.
