About Alex
Self taught drummer who started learning bass five year ago. I played drums for 4 years in a rock band while I was in college and university and did a one-semester jazz workshop in a university. I play mostly rock, although my musical interests span from progressive rock to jazz.

You will start by learning how to tune the bass, how to hold it and how to position your hand properly. You will learn the plucking techniques and start working right from the beginning on the rythm, tempo and beat. We will then study some fundamentals scales (major, minor, pentatonic, blues) using patterns on the neck (no theory). We will work on the precision and the gradually increase the speed. You will then play songs using tablatures and then start learning the notes on the neck and start to read simple partitions. Being mostly self taught, I know that learning an instrument starting with theory can be overwhelming and discouraging. We will go at your pace using material that I will prepare for you. The most important thing will be to have fun while learning and playing.
