Hi! IMy name is Sara.

I have a Master's degree in Japanese studies, and I'm currently teaching Korean alongside my studies in Digital linguistics.
I've been teaching Korean at the university level for a little over two years, and my academic and professional experience is related to learning, teaching, and researching languages.

Through my studies and my own experience learning Japanese and Korean, I'm well aware of the challenges beginners face, especially when they encounter a different script and language structure for the first time. That's why I try to keep the explanations as simple as possible and to teach in a relaxed atmosphere where it's okay to ask questions and learn at your own pace.

About the lesson

Korean language classes are intended for complete beginners, regardless of age.

I have been teaching Korean for two years at university level. But before that, I can say that through my studies and my own experience in language learning, I developed an approach that strives to make the language clear, easy to understand, and accessible to students who are encountering Korean for the first time.

I structure and adapt the lessons to the pace and needs of each student, with the aim of building a solid foundation for further learning from the very beginning. The goal is to gradually develop writing, reading, and pronunciation skills through practical examples and exercises that will build an understanding of vocabulary and grammar.
Special attention is given to clearly explaining grammatical structures and the way Korean functions in relation to English or Croatian language, so that the student understands the logic of the language instead of merely learning the rules by heart.

If we start from scratch, we will first get acquainted with the Korean script and the basics of pronunciation, after which we gradually introduce basic vocabulary and grammatical structures and apply them in simple sentences and everyday situations.

A typical lesson consists of a short review of previously covered material, the introduction of new content, and practical exercises through which the student immediately applies what he or she has learned. The pace and content of the lesson can be changed depending on needs and progress, and if necessary, we will also include content related to Korean culture, everyday life, and customs, because understanding the cultural context can be very useful for the correct understanding and use of the language.

We use presentations, textbooks, and other teaching materials for learning, but we can also adapt the method of work and the materials to your needs and wishes. I am open to different ways of organizing the lesson, and if you have special goals, needs, or requirements, we can define them together and adjust the content and pace of work.
In addition to individual lessons, it is possible to organize lessons in a smaller group, for example if you have friends or acquaintances who also want to learn Korean.

During the first, consultation lesson, we can talk about your goals and expectations, agree on a method of work, and see which approach would suit you the best.
