About Mahia
Hello! My name is Mahia, and I am currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Accounting at Lehman College. I have a strong background in mathematics and enjoy helping students understand challenging concepts in a clear and approachable way. I believe that every student can succeed with the right support, patience, and encouragement. My goal is to create a comfortable learning environment where students feel confident asking questions and developing their skills at their own pace.
Outside of academics, I enjoy baking and other creative hobbies, which have taught me skills that I also bring into my tutoring sessions. I am committed to being professional, dependable, and supportive while helping students reach their academic goals.

My lessons are tailored to each student's learning style and current skill level. I focus on building a strong understanding of concepts rather than memorizing formulas, helping students gain confidence and improve their problem-solving abilities.
A typical lesson begins with reviewing any questions or difficulties the student has encountered, followed by a clear explanation of the topic using step-by-step examples. We then work through practice problems together before the student attempts similar questions independently with guidance as needed.
My goal is to create a positive and encouraging learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes as part of the learning process. As a college student pursuing a degree in Accounting, I use math regularly and understand the importance of breaking complex concepts into manageable steps.
