About Charli

Hi! I'm Charli (she/her). I'm a full-time professional illustrator working primarily in publishing. I have had the pleasure of working with clients such as Penguin, Bloomsbury, Tillbury Press, KiwiCo, and Peterborough Museum.

I love being able to contribute to peoples' creative journeys by helping them build confidence, skills, and broadening their imaginations and capacity for lateral thinking. There's nothing better than seeing the spark of an idea or hope turn into a fully fledged project and skillset.

Relaxed and inclusive tutoring in art for all ages; from the fundamentals, exploration, and basic techniques, to advanced methods & early career aid.

Sessions will be tailored specifically to you and your interests and desired skill progression. First we will explore the areas of your creative practice that you want to improve and discuss how you prefer to learn (are you a prolific note taker, prefer 'doing' to 'listening', like to have silence or some ambient music, or are you not sure!).
From there I will create bespoke sessions to help you progress in a fulfilling, sustainable, and authentic way, allowing you to unlock and grow your creative skillset.
I also ensure that attention is given to creative confidence, dismantling imposter syndrome, and contextualising your skills with knowledge about existing artists, art movements, and more.

My qualifications:
- BAhons in Illustration from NUA
- Foundation Diploma in graphic design (distinction)
- A Level Art and Design (A* 100%)
- GCSE Art and Design (A* 100%)

My experience:
- Professional full-time illustrator for the last 8 years
- Dozens of talks, workshops, and lectures delivered across all age ranges and experience levels
- Previous employments working with children

Myself:
- Inclusive and relaxed
- LGBTQ+ and neurodivergency friendly (I myself am queer and autistic)
- Confident, professional, and occasionally tells pretty good jokes
- Up to date DBS check and Public Liability insured.

Sessions are available for:

- Online via Google Meet
- At your house
- At my private studio; NR3 location, weekends only. (Special bonus; my dog can also attend this location, entirely optional) The studio has limited parking available and is fully accessible via lift.
- At Norwich Millennium Library

Additional charges:
- Mileage on travelling to your house above 5miles (from Norwich NR3) 45p per mile
- +£10 for room hire in Norwich Millennium Library
