About Aurora

My name is Aurora, I am a full time PhD student, part time university lecturer in Archaeology and Art History and avid lover of chess since childhood!

I offer online chess lessons, with flexible time slots throughout the week. My lessons are equal parts fun and challenging, with a focus on foundations and strategy with a sprinkling of game history in-between!

About the lesson

Beginner + Intermediate Chess for children and adults.

In my classes I start with the basics, learning the foundations of how each piece moves and how to set up the board to work for you!

Once my students have the foundations down, we move onto learning key opening, middle, and end strategies. My lessons are equal parts fun and challenging, with practical level-appropriate exercises, and we end each lesson with a speed-match.

In all my lessons I integrate strategy and history of the game and provide practice sheets for you to work on your skills in between lessons!

I teach ages 5 and up. For children's lessons an adult must be present in the room but does not have to actively participate in the lesson (unless they want to - I love teaching families!).

Note that inappropriate remarks will result in the lesson being terminated immediately without refund. I will not tolerate hate or bullying in any form.
