My lessons are geared towards students who are interested in learning vocals with attention to good technique, vocal health and who have commitment to learning. Students can expect to be taught from the ground up, and will be taught to understand proper/safe singing techniques including breathing, posture and anatomy of the vocals.
I mould my lessons depending on age, how my student interacts with their instrument, musical interests and commitment to practise. I believe that every student has a type of music they can identify with so I look to harness that passion and use it to develop their skills.
I focus on the learning needs of my students during lessons. I believe music should be internalised before it can be expressed. This way, students will be taught to play from the heart, which makes lessons less clinical and more enjoyable.
The best way to learn is under the Guidance of a good teacher, unfortunately, there aren’t many out there. I have Found this out with experience and ended up having to single out certain methods from a number of different teachers. Again, i found the best teacher for an aspiring musician is in the form of listening and learning from music itself.
My approach is to understand the student and motivate him/her to practice, give tools and techniques but mostly try to get the person engaged with the instrument. There is no way to learn if you are not engaged, the idea is the teacher to get that done.
My teaching method is always focussed on the needs of the student. It's my job to find out what you would like to learn and how to best help you achieve your musical goals. Whether that simply be learning a few of your favourite songs or delving deep into musical theory and the technical aspects of the instrument.
My teaching method is very practical, however, if the student would like it so, I will supply written work as well. I base my lessons on the students desires, along with some suggestions which I believe may help the student to improve at a steadier pace.
I aim to aid you in your musical journey and get you to where you want to be, whether in school studying for an exam or just wanting to jam with some friends, my teaching will have you fully covered. Teaching instruments of varied styles ranging from funk, blues, rock, jazz, metal, reggae, fusion, motown and hip-hop.
I thrive to ensure the student learns and have an understanding of what they are being taught. From the basics of the acoustic guitar to the advanced depths of song-writing.
Hi there music lovers! For those looking to learn basic guitar, feel free to touch base. I have been playing guitar since 13 yo. We will focus on the basics - reading chords, how to strum, and get you started with your fave songs first.
Learning to play a musical instrument at an early age can enhance many aspects of a child's life. The disciplined structured practice in music strengthens various brain functions and allows a child to apply those strengths to academic, social and emotional activities.
My teaching style is very individualised to the student I teach. Every student has their strengths and weaknesses so for some students I might have to focus on music theory, some may need help with guitar technique and others may need help in musical expression and performance.
I am a qualified music and guitar teacher with an enthusiastic and positive attitude. All students welcome from Beginners to advanced students. Customised lessons to suit you! Learn the songs you want to play! Technique, improvisation, ear training and theory all highlighted within lessons.
Not every music student has the same needs. You need a method that has been proven to work over and over again, but you need a professional to identify exactly which method is going to give you the results you are looking for, as fast as possible, so you remain motivated and confident.
Technical aspects of guitar will be loosely based around the AMEB grades if a student chooses the classical route. I would prefer to cater my lessons around what students want to learn for example songs they want to learn or genres/styles they would like to play in. For me a teacher is more of a guide and learning would be doubly as effective if both parties are engaged in the content.
My approach to guitar and music is hands on. I focus on the physical playing of the instrument first, with an introduction to Tabulature (TAB) we learn basic riffs and warm ups to get our finger dexterity up. Once we are more comfortable with our instrument I introduce chord fingerings and touch on some music theory.
Your first lesson will include getting to know each other, I'd like to know what kind of music you are in to, what styles you like, what your goal at the end of this is, because I want to get you to where you want to be. We will go through the lesson plan and make sure you are happy and comfortable with anything.
