Book Private Swimming Lessons Near Me in Mortdale

Swimming lessons typically focus on freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, and butterfly strokes.

• Freestyle requires coordinated arm strokes, continuous leg kicks, and rhythmic side breathing.
• Backstroke is performed on your back with alternating arm rotations and flutter kicks.
• This stroke features simultaneous arm sweeps paired with outward leg kicks.
• Butterfly is the most challenging stroke, requiring simultaneous arm movements and dolphin kicks.

Most beginners start with freestyle because it feels natural and builds water confidence quickly.

Learning all four strokes provides versatility and prepares you for any aquatic situation.

Swimming instructors in Mortdale charge around $25/h on average per session.

The cost depends on different variables:

• Student's skill level and age (beginner, intermediate, advanced, child, adult)
• Teacher expertise including relevant certifications and years of instruction
• Session duration and frequency (30-minute, 45-minute, 60-minute lessons, weekly or intensive)
• Lesson format (private one-on-one, small group, larger group classes)
• Venue considerations including facility access and instructor travel

Purchasing lesson bundles or monthly packages often provides better value than single sessions.

Semi-private lessons balance cost and attention by splitting fees between two or three students.

Comfort in water comes from practising floating positions, controlled breathing, and trusting buoyancy.

• Practising back float position builds trust in water's ability to hold you up.
• Treading water keeps you vertical and safe in deep areas without touching the bottom.
• Breathing technique includes steady exhalation beneath the surface followed by rapid inhalation above.
• Understanding pool depth, avoiding deep water until ready, and knowing where exits are located enhances safety.

Never swim alone, especially when learning, as having supervision or a buddy improves safety significantly.

Progress at your own pace by increasing water depth only when you feel ready.
