About Amy
I was born and raised in South Korea and currently live in Seattle. During the weekdays, I teach elementary and middle school students at a private school. As much as I love teaching, I have extreme pride in Korean culture and language, and thus, tutoring Korean is such a meaningful and enjoyable part of my life!
Outside of my teaching career, I enjoy exercising, running outside when the weather is beautiful, taking pictures of the sceneries, and singing on top of my lungs while driving! At the same time, I love staying in and watching Netflix or K-dramas or reflecting on life lessons and journaling. I'm also starting to enjoy cooking although it has always been my weakness :)

In teaching Korean, I focus on conversational Korean at beginning, intermediate, and advanced level. While the lesson will be personalized based on your goal and learning style, the general teaching methodology I follow is *Precision Teaching* to nail down your fluency in Korean. This involves...
1. assessing your current speaking and listening skills,
2. pinpointing the area of need whether that is pronunciation, vocabulary, grammar, and/or simply an exposure,
3. breaking the skills down into small and achievable components, and
4. building fluency with confidence!!
While the teaching methodology sound technical, the materials will be tailored to your character and interest. In every lesson, we will engage in role plays using a script that will teach you vocabularies and expressions you can use when you have conversations with your Korean friends. We will also practice sounding out Korean consonants and vowels and combination of those accurately and fluently. Best of all, you will have fun with your sweet Korean friend, Amy!
