About Seb
I want to teach A-Level Law because it’s a subject where the gap between “knowing it” and “scoring it” is huge, and that gap is very closeable with the right guidance. A lot of students are more capable than their grades show, they just haven’t been shown how examiners think. I find it rewarding to take someone from feeling lost in a topic to handling an exam question with confidence.
Outside of law, I’m a keen hillwalker, I enjoy a range of sports and I play competitive card games, so I know a bit about the discipline of practising something properly and performing under pressure, which is half the battle at A-Level.

How I teach: Sessions are built around turning knowledge into marks. A-Level Law rewards a specific skill, applying the right rule to the facts and structuring the answer the way the mark scheme wants and that’s where most marks are lost, not on knowing the content. I work from past papers and real mark schemes, so we practise the technique examiners actually reward rather than just re-reading notes. Each session is shaped around you: unpicking a topic you’re stuck on, doing timed exam questions, or working back from a marked paper to fix recurring problems.
Lesson length: Sessions usually run 60 minutes, which suits most students. I’m happy to do 90 minutes for exam-season intensives or when we’re working through a full past paper.
Who it’s for: A-Level Law students across the AQA, OCR and Eduqas specifications, whether you’re starting Year 12, pushing for a top grade in Year 13, or resitting. I can also help GCSE students or adult learners approaching law for the first time.
My background: A law degree, now continuing into postgraduate study at a top 3 UK university, so the material is fresh and I understand what examiners look for.
