About Dania
I am a year 12 student and I would love to tutor younger children because I too know the struggles of being a student and people becoming impatient when we don't grasp a concept quickly. No matter how hard the concept I'm teaching is and how confused the person I'm tutoring is, I will go over each and every single thing patiently and I will never ever judge someone for not grasping a concept. I am not strict at all (which is a negative to some parents :)) but I will give students a comfortable learning environment, where they will not feel judged in the least. Even if it takes us the whole lesson to completely understand a single topic, I'd say that's a win, as long as the student understands it. In saying that, I will also try to teach as much as I can in the little time that I have, so that the lessons are productive. I'm not a professional who's been to university, but I am a good student who knows a lot about biology and I do think that I will be able to relate to my students, as we are both still in school. :)

In my lessons I would teach from the very start of the topic and after each section I go over I would ask the student a couple of questions and also use a couple of flashcards to reinforce what they have just learned. I would explain every single question they have in detail and not move on until they understand the concept. The length of a lesson would be one hour. What qualifies me to teach year 9 and 10 science (specifically biology) are my straight excellences in level 2 NCEA biology and my straight excellences in physics and chemistry (which is helpful, as the sciences tend to cross over). The lessons are for year 9s and year 10s, but I will be able to help year 7s and year 8s if they are doing science in school, or to prepare them for when they go into higher year levels.
