About Salomaé
I have a learning disability, and as someone who was able to defy the odds in my school work, I feel that I have a responsibility to help those who struggle too. I’ve always had problems with the current school system, in the way that they can’t support everyone in a manner that each learner needs, or that they just refuse to see when a student needs help. Private tutoring that costs a fortune then makes the playing field more uneven. I want every student to feel understood in what they need in order to learn, so that they can feel empowered in the classroom not disadvantaged.

Qualifications: I have just completed my A levels with B’s in Physics, Chemistry and Maths and a C in an Extended Project Qualification. I received a 9-9 in GCSE Combined Science, a 9 in GCSE Geography and an 8 in English Literature GCSE and 7 in English Language GCSE. What I offer: I can teach online, 30 minutes to 1 hour lessons. I can teach up to GCSE level Science, Geography and English Language/Literature. I can teach content, revision techniques, exam technique and will always provide homework that I will mark. Experience: My experience as a tutor comes from being a language leader in high school. As a GCSE student I helped younger students within my school with their French homework or helped them prepare for tests. I would practise all aspects of language learning with them (speaking, reading, writing and listening), giving advice on how to memorise their vocabulary and testing them on French SPaG. I would make sure I gave them homework and mark it so that we could see what areas needed some work, while also allowing them to see the progress that they had made. As someone with a niche learning disability, my specific needs were often forgotten in the classroom, leaving me to struggle twice as hard as the other students in my class. Due to my experience with mainstream teaching techniques, I have gone through a lengthy process to find my own ways of studying and learning that ended in results my teachers never thought I could get. This means I can adapt to different learning styles and give advice on how best to study specific to you. I understand what it takes as both a student and a teacher to get those desired grades, I need to listen and notice knowledge gaps that need to be addressed as well as teaching in such a way to foster confidence in a student. As my mentee, I ask you to be dedicated and to do the homework, I can’t memorise your facts or you, you need to put some work in too.
