About Emily
I teach upper elementary math and science I have a bachelor’s degree is media communications and a master’s degree in elementary education. I have experience tutoring kindergarten through 12th grade in all subject areas, and a background in the AVID (advancement vis individual determination) college readiness program. I am an upper elementary math and science teacher.I am passionate about STEM topics and I believe that everyone is capable of doing math and science. I teach through discovery, allowing my students to get a full sense of why they are doing what they are doing. I use questioning techniques and gradual release strategies to provide support where needed and allow students to soar when they’re ready. I believe in meeting challenges head on, and giving them everything we have so our brains grow stronger through learning
