About Victor
I'm a current final year student of Linguistics and Japanese at the University of Manchester. My dual-major equips me with both the language skills and the understanding of linguistic principles required to be successful in language teaching. I spent a year living in Japan where I studied and worked using almost exclusively Japanese, therefore I consider myself to have valuable experience which I use to help my students get the most out of their time. I have a particular interest in speaking skills and accent reduction, which is why I have chosen to focus my lessons on those areas.

I create detailed and extensive lesson plans directly tailored to the needs of the student. Lessons are 60-90 minutes long and consist of one-to-one conversation practice, in which I provide enhanced feedback designed to maximise improvement. For beginners and those just getting to grips with the sounds and articulation of Japanese, it's important to develop good habits and a thorough understanding early on, so I will walk you through each sound and help you develop your ear for Japanese! I tutor according to evidence-based linguistic principles which I myself used to reach a level of fluency suitable for living and working in Japan. Any age and level is welcome.
